What Is Erosive Gastritis?

Erosive gastritis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the gastric mucosa, in which small wounds (erosion) appear. One of the signs of erosive gastritis is bleeding, which occurs in every third patient.

This disease is most common in men in middle age, among children and women. Erosive gastritis is the longest-lasting disease of the gastrointestinal tract.
